Email and Webmail

I am not getting my email

If you have previously been receiving emails and now are not, here are a couple quick things to check on your own

  1. The most common problem for not getting emails is your mailbox being full. To check your mailbox you can login in to your accounts Control Panel (CPanel) and review your emailboxes.  To access CPanel open a web browser and type in your website address (ie: www.yourdomain.com) followed by /cpanel, like this: www.yourdomain.com/cpanel - except with your own domain.

Once you have logged in, go to Email Accounts.  Review your emailboxes and the quota for each.  Typically a mailbox that is full will be highlighted in red.  Also look for mailboxes that are highlighted in yellow, these are close to their limit and should be dealt with as well.  Increasing is an option, however mailboxes over 250 MB do not perform well. For larger mailboxes contact us about our business mail solutions.

If your mailbox is already full you will need to increase the quota just a little so you can enable your mailbox again. Click the Quota link and add increase the amount by a few megabytes.
  2. Your Internet connection might be down. Check your Internet connection by opening a new web broswer and going to www.yahoo.com or another other well known website.  If you are unable to load any website you may want to contact your Internt Service Provider to see if there is an outage in your area.
  3. Your hosting plan has expired. Please contact us for more details.
If none of the reasons above apply to your case, please contact us for further assistance.

My website is not sending email and my web forms do not work and I am getting 550 authentication errors

Problem

Your website is not sending emails properly from your contact page, web forms or web applications or you are getting bounced emails from your website.

Proper website and email hosting server compliance requires that your servers can not be used maliciously to send emails or spam and require proper authenticated users access only.  This measure helps reduce spam and fishing scams on the Internet.  For example, if your website is currently set to use phpmail() functions or sendmail functions (without "qualifiers") then any emails sent to addresses not on your domain will fail and not leave the server.

If you are a site or mail admin you may see postmaster emails with a similar error message:

550-You do not have sufficient privileges to send mail to this address.
550-Please authenticate and try again.

Solution

To resolve this problem, the ideal solution is to use an SMTP authentication method from your website.  This method will pass your username and password to your mail server along with the email to validate you are a permitted user to use this servers resources and send emails to the world.

How do I access my email online through webmail?

Your webmail account can be accessed by visiting your website address with "webmail" appended to the end. For example, if your website was www.xyzcompany.com your webmail site would be www.xyzcompany.com/webmail - where "xyzcompany.com" would be your actual website address.
